Search Engine Optimization SEO Tutorials from A to Z [Episode-07] :: Site Architecture

Website architecture:

When the keyword research is done, your main task will be to determine what your website architecture or site architecture will look like. This is very important. The search engine determines from the architecture of your website, which page is important and which is not.

For example, we have links to many pages with Home or Front page. When search engines see that this page has links to almost all pages, Search Engine (SE) thinks that this page is important.

Internal or Inbound linking:

Internal or Inbound linking is a link between one page of your website and another. Internal linking is very important for site structure and SEO.

Suppose another page is referred from 10 pages of your site, and another page is referred from 3 pages, then SE assumes that 10 pages with inbound link is much more important. For the website used in our example, we can highlight the important product pages through internal linking.

Page Depth:

Similarly, the deeper the page, or the more clicks you have to enter, the less important it is.

Making Quality link:

For this reason, the places of Top Navigation, Side Bar and Footer links of the website are very important, because all the links that you will use in these places, it is possible to enter the links with one click.

Again, usually the content of the pages of many websites change but these places remain the same, so these places
should be given very important Category and Topics.

Use the correct Anchor text. We got the keywords from research. You can search Google for anchor text.

SE usually gives more importance to the links at the top of the page. For example: Your Top navigation link is more important than Footer's link.

When creating a link, make sure that where you want to create a link is relevant to this page, if not, link to the relevant page, otherwise SE may penalize you.

Stay well. Thanks.
