Search Engine Optimization SEO Tutorials from A to Z [Episode-06] :: Analysis and Decision Making in Keyword Research

Now we will open the previously created Excel file. Where there are keywords, searches and allintitle. Now to measure keyword competitiveness we need to see which keyword has high number of searches and low number of competitor (pages). From this we can get our desired keyword.
Now if you look at the picture in the example, you will see that the search number of 'eletronic book reading device' keyword is 60 and the competitor is only 146 pages, so you can compete here, because 60 searches are not bad at all.

Then look at the keyword 'electronic books device' is better because it is only 6 hours all the time compared to 460 searches. Find out the required keywords in this way and make the color of the cell of excel green or you can do any other color of your choice. Slowly select the other keywords and highlight them in green.

Notice that there are some keywords in this sheet whose searches are less and allintitle is much more. We must eliminate these keywords. We will redirect such keywords. For example: see 'electornic books online'. It would be foolish to compete for this keyword. This usually happens when someone starts optimizing a keyword without keyword research. This is why keyword research is so important, otherwise it will be a waste of both your time and labor. So even if the problem is for keyword research, take some time out and do it right. Then, ultimately you will benefit.
When all the keywords are highlighted, we need to sort the allintitle column of the excel sheet in the smallest to largest order. Then we will have many benefits to understand.

Here are some more things to consider, such as, if your site is new, then one kind of strategy, if the site is old, then another kind of strategy to follow. For this you can see the graph below.

It is generally thought that if allintitle is below 1000 then non-competitive, up to 1000-3000 fairly competitive, up to 3000-5000 competitive and above that highly competitive.
So if your site is very popular and aged then you can choose competitive or highly competitive keywords, but if your site is brand new then you must choose non-competitive keyword. You can target fairly comopetitive keywords by fulfilling that target.

If you can choose the right keyword by researching the keyword correctly and if you can optimize that keyword correctly, then gradually you can see the results. I am ending here like today. There was an invitation to read the next post.
