I will try to discuss freelancing and outsourcing in a few episodes. Today is the first episode. In today's episode we will try to discuss in detail what freelancing and outsourcing is or how it works.
What is freelancing?
Freelancing is an English word. Whose simple Bengali is " free profession ". Many of us have a misconception that "freelancing can make money". In fact, freelancing is a means of earning money.
Let us understand through examples. Suppose, 'Mr. Akbar is a rickshaw puller by profession. He earns money by transporting passengers all day. Note that those who drive rickshaws have no time schedule. When drives a rickshaw, when takes a rest, if he doesn't want to rent a bus with a passenger, he says directly, 'Don't go!' In a word, he is completely independent. If he thinks his body is bad today, I will not go out with a rickshaw today. Is anyone in the world able to force him? Then we can say 'rickshaw driving is freelancing' and rickshaw driver is 'freelancer'
Similarly, a mason, a CNG driver, a wheelbarrow driver is a 'freelancer' and their medium of work is 'freelancing'.
Again a bank manager or varsity professor but not a 'freelancer'. Because they have to abide by a time. If the office is at 9 o'clock, you have to go to the office before 9 o'clock anyway. If you don't go on time, you have to eat the bush from the "upper floor", as a bonus you can leave the job! Waking up again in the morning, it seems that the body is today or in the afternoon it seems that a little rest is needed. Whatever you do, you can't do as you wish! Finish the work first, then the rest if you survive!
What is outsourcing
Now let's talk about ' outsourcing '. Suppose, every year in our country, many people die due to 'dengue' in the rainy season and many are hospitalized due to illness হাসপাতালে God 🙁 keep everyone healthy. This dengue is more common in the rainy season. Now every city corporation has its own people to keep it clean. Now it turns out that what people have is not enough. It will take 2-3 times more people in these few months to do the cleaning work well.
Now the city corporation has two roads. Either those who need extra are hired at once. It will be seen that they will need trouble for 2-3 months but will have to pay for 12 months! Which is a loss project. Another way is that the city corporation can hire additional people on a contract basis. That you will stay 3 months. When the work is done, he will leave with the money. This is the benefit of the city corporation. This is 'outsourcing'.
I will build my house like that. I hired painters and carpenters. The work is done. The transaction is over. Where to go again. I took a rickshaw and fixed the rent. I went to my place and rented.
Result: Freelancing and outsourcing are completely different things.
